- This is an excellent book for all. While it is designed to be used with Word 2013, the ribbon section had useful information for users of Word 2007, 2010 and 2013. I keep a set of these books in my classroom for students so get to watch how a number of different people (adults because this is at the university) interact with this series of books.
As a long-time Office user, I know that each product has features that I don't know how to use. This book really helps with what's new in Word 2013 plus with understanding the power of some of those unused features. There's an informative section on how to use keyboard shortcuts, which save time. Need to make your document look as professional as possible? Check out the section on formatting and creating professional looking documents.
The nice thing about this series of books is that you can open to a page, prop under your monitor and the book is small enough to fit between your monitor and keyboard so you can check it as you work with a function.
Word 2013 can edit PDF files and this book shows you how. Plus how to search effectively or to insert a watermark. Need to create an index for your document? Quick steps that are easy to follow and use. Ditto for creating a Table of Contents.
This book is filled with tips, tricks and new information. Even if you think you know how to use Word, you will find something new in this book. - Microsoft, I hate you. I have to use Microsoft products for work. When we recently upgraded to Word 2013, I was frustrated at the changes that made it difficult for me to review Word documents. I couldn't find answers to my questions in the Microsoft community discussions, so I broke down and bought this book. Yes, the pictures tend to be small, but that's what my reading glasses are for. I'm glad I bought this book, as it's helped reduce my frustration level. Other folks in my office keep borrowing it, so it's been a worthwhile investment.
- Very good. Second best book on MS Word 2013 for an average user. Well done, but I do agree with one other poster who remarked that the text in the book is too small. A bit hard to read, especially if your eyes are not 20 years young. I bought two books, and the other I deem to be even a bit better. It is "Teach Yourself Visually Word 2013." These two books together should teach everything needed by all but the ultimate power user, and do so as painlessly as learning software can be.
- What I liked most about this book are the pictures and graphics.
The clarity of what's being taught is on display throughout the book.
For those that enjoy a more thorough and in-depth conceptual style there other books out there.

- Easily helps navigate through Word step-by-step! With pictures to help you clearly see what you should be clicking and seeing!
- An excellent book. Very easy to use because of the use of screen dumps to illustrate each point. Each section starts with the basics and then progresses into more complex uses. A reader can stop at the level that most suits their need in each section. Highly recommended.
- It has been very helpful easy to leat and follow, only problem with it, after using and re-open pages, they come apart (un-glue)
